Happy Halloween, Everyone!!! The costumes are out, the vibe is spooky, and fall has finally arrived in Virginia! With all the costume ideas out there this year, I decided to not only have some fun at work, but to work a costume around a fabulous protective style: Paying homage to the iconic Janelle Monae, a little extra “umph” to the classic pomp transformed this work look into a perfectly fashionable (and work-appropriate) Halloween statement. How are you rocking your natural hair this Halloween?
Do the rules of natural hair care confuse you? One minute, you’re reading “no shampoo! low manipulation!” and the next you’ve found a blog featuring a naturalista who does twistouts daily, shampoos weekly, and has hair down to her butt! We all know the cardinal rule: No heat. Welp. Now even that’s changed.
I wore this outfit to the Send-off brunch at the 3rd Annual Delaware Naturally Redefined Hair & Holistic Expo. It’s a lovely ensemble to blend the transition of summer to fall. Dress: Nachiket Barve Tumeric Spice Sheath Black Pumps: Fioni Night Jeanna Nails: Sally Henson Insta-dri Mint Sprint
I had never been to a natural hair event before last Saturday’s Naturally Redefined Expo in Delaware. I had no idea what to expect, but I must say that the event was an uplifting, empowering and fun affair!
I wore this edgy number to the 3rd Annual Delaware Naturally Redefined Hair & Holistic Expo as my panelist dress. It certainly got a number of stares and compliments. It’s also perfectly suited for a night out on the town. Dress: Moschino Chain to Zip Dress Black Pumps: Fioni Kutzie Nails: Sally Henson Insta-dri Mint Sprint
