Even though I was late in completing the entire month’s assignments, I had a blast participating in the (almost) daily Photo challenge. Below is the month in review!
Today’s Catch-up prompt: What does triumph mean to you?
Seeing double? Yeah, me too. 🙂
Today’s Catch-up Prompt: show us an edge — a straight line, a narrow ridge, a precipice. When I think of an edge, I typically think of a straight line or a sharp angle. It dawned on me that edges can include curves too. Compare the pictures below and notice how both straight and curvy edges provide a lovely frame or work in tandem.
Something old, something new. Something green, something blue. There’s something to be said about distorted glass–whether it be a shattered, dusty mirror from the past or a modern non-translucent glass pane. It imports a simultaneous sense of mystery and adventure.
Okay…confession time. I know that the Photography 101 challenge is technically over, and I went MIA in the last week, but life hit hard and fast, and I had to drop every thing to deal with it. But I’m no quitter–so I fully intend on completing the final week of the challenge. So to pick up where I left off…
Yes, Yes, I know–I’m late. But better late than never. Friday’s Photo 101 prompt was “focus on landscape photography.” I was busy getting our rental house ready for the family coming in for Thanksgiving (you know, ’cause 16 people can’t fit into our two-bedroom condo). We were about to leave the property when I wondered into the backyard and saw this view:
Photography 101 Prompt: Show us a swarm today: large group, moving together. Birds. Bugs. Kids. Taxi cabs. Your subjects can be big or small, animate or inanimate — whatever they are, you just need a lot of them. Our journey from Tel Aviv to the Dead Sea took us through the Judean Desert. We spent so many hours looking at sand, sand dunes, and sand cliffs, that when this oasis–this grove of trees–appeared out of nowhere, I thought I was experiencing a mirage. I had to take a quick picture just to make sure it was real.
Photography 101 prompt: Our lives are made up of big events and tiny moments. Ultimately, life is fleeting, and oftentimes it’s these small moments we love to document. On our way to Sacré-Cœur Basilica, when we happened upon this fire dancer in the streets.
Today’s Photography 101 Prompt is architecture. I love France and there is no shortage of beautiful buildings, statues, and monuments in this wonderful country (not to mention fabulous cuisine–but I digress). As you will see below, I had a difficult time choosing just one photo . . . .
