Meet P.A.

Crossing the Judea Desert

Crossing the Judean Desert

Hi! I’m the Girl in Girl Meets Soul. 🙂 Welcome to my life.

This is a space where I discuss all of my passions–including hair, food and healthy living, beauty and fashion, travel and culture, photography, and spirituality.  I lovingly call this space The GMS Lifestyle.

I realize these topics may appeal to a wide-range of audiences, so I’ve fashioned this blog to be a lifestyle magazine of sorts.  If you’re more interested in one topic over another, just head straight to that section of the site and indulge in those posts!

Below is a rundown of each section of the blog:

Features posts about healthy hair care and natural hairstyles, features naturalistas around the globe, and hosts giveaways.  Several posts include hairstyle tutorials that can also be found on my YouTube Channel.  If you would like to be featured for your fabulous natural hair, please fill out a feature request!

Food & Healthy Living.
Features posts that highlight the benefits of healthy living, including fitness, health challenges, nutrition, and healthy recipes.  I occasionally throw in not-so-healthy recipes because–well, I’m human. And I love food! 😀

I would love this portion of the site to be interactive and host foodie features.  If you have a recipe you’d like to share, or if you run a food blog, please share your unique style!

Beauty & Fashion.
No, it’s not just a clever title.  This section of the blog features–you guessed it!–beauty and fashion posts. 🙂 For all you fashionistas out there who would like to be featured, I would love to share your unique style with my readers! Please fill out a feature request here.

Happy Living.
This is the “lifestyle” area of the blog.  It features posts that cover every other topic I care about in life, including travel, culture, photography, and spirituality.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or think of a particular topic you’d like to see me cover.  I hope to provide a space where you can get a little slice of happiness and maybe–just maybe–a small serving of inspiration.

Follow me on social media (see below), especially Instagram, in order not to miss features of naturalistas, fashionistas, travelistas, and foodies that don’t make it onto the blog.

With Love and Soul.

  1. Hello there P.A.! I see that you just started following my poetry blog. Thank you so much! It’s always interesting when someone starts off following one blog and at some point, discover the other and begin following that one also. I hope that you are entertained and find quality content on this blog as well. I truly appreciate your support and please know that you have mine too! Thanks again! 🙂

    • D'aller Naturel says

Yes, I just stumbled across it by accident! I love poetry so I’m looking forward to reading your content. The last time I actively wrote poetry, I was in 7th grade and some got published. But it’s been sporadic ever since and mostly just wrote for me. 🙂

      • I’m so glad you stumbled across it! I write a lot more on the poetry blog since it is my first love out of all the writing styles. Hey, you never know…you probably have a hidden talent for poetry. Maybe one day you will try your hand and share. I can only hope! 🙂

      • D'aller Naturel says

        Mmmm maybe
You’ll have to wait and see … Lol 😉

      • Ha,ha! I’m a very patient person…besides…good things come to those who wait…hummm…lol 🙂

      • Hi there! I have a hair question for you, but I don’t find an email address on your blog. Would you prefer I just ask the question here?

      • Hello! Good to hear from you. My email address is You can also reach me for questions/concerns through any of the methods on the “Contacts” page. I’ll be looking out for your question. 🙂

  2. Aloha! I glad that I ‘bumped” into your site. I’m looking forward to hear your journey and other goodies you will be sharing! 🙂

    • Aloha and thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy what you find 🙂 Be sure to let me know if you have any questions or if you’d like to see me cover something in particular.

  3. Hi P.A. I found your blog while looking for fellow transitioners. I look forward to following your progress and learning from you. Good luck on your journey.
    ~ Drea

    • Hello Drea! Thank you for stopping by and welcome to the Natural Hair Community! I know it can be an elusive online presence, so I hope you find some helpful information on here and know that you have support during this journey :-).

  4. Great blog! I like everything I’ve seen and I just got here. I’ll be back though… I must ask it you’ve seen the film/ documentary by Chris Rock titled, ‘Good Hair’? Fantastic look into the psychology of the notion our natural hair isn’t ‘good’ enough. Hoping you’ll shed light on many of those still believing the old lies….

    • Thank you and welcome! Yes, I have seen “Good Hair.” It’s right there along with the documentary “Dark Girls” by Bill Duke. I’m trying my best to debunk the views of the old lies (as you so aptly put it) and empower women to take charge of their hair by employing healthy haircare practices. After all, I firmly believe healthy hair is “good hair.”

      • Wow. You are on a fantastic path and I wish you all the best! It’s nothing short of …Revolution!

I’ve not seen, ‘Dark Girls’ by Bill Duke. I’ll find it, I’m interested to see it.

  5. Hi P.A., thank you for following my blog. You have a very interesting blog happening here. I’m sure to drop in more often 🙂
