Meet P.A.

Hi, I’m P.A.!Β Welcome to my little corner in the ether.
I absolutely love to talk about all things lifestyle–whether it’s about natural hair tips, style and beauty trends, travel experiences, the ins and outs of being an entrepreneur, home and mom life or personal development. Why? Because I am a multi-passionate individual who loves sharing my narrative in hopes that it encourages other women to feel okay stepping out of the box that society tries to put them in.Β If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
My life can be characterized as a living analogy of stuffing a round peg into a square hole (or do I have that backwards? No matter).
I had an unconventional upbringing, living in 13 countries and 6 continents before the age of 10.Β I love numbers, planning and rules just as much as I love dance, writing, theater and art. By trade, I am a finance & trust and estate planning attorney, a CPA, a transformation life & business coach and a creative.Β I have an incredibly logical side as well as a care-free, creative side which makes it difficult to fit into society’s artificial constructs.
All this to say, I had a difficult time finding my identity as I grew up in a society consistently trying to tell me who I should be.
Through a lot of highs, lows, trials and triumphs, I finally came to a place of accepting all the parts that make me who I am–a curly fashionista, creative entrepreneur, wife, girl mom, and nomad at heart. It gave me the freedom and the confidence to live life according to my purpose, which is to empower other women to find their story (re: passion and identity) and use that to take control of their lives, step into their power, and create the life they were BORN to live.
To that end, I lovingly call this space Girl Meets Soul. And here, we live The GMS Lifestyle. Unencumbered and unapologetically you.
So take a look around.Β I hope you find this a space where you can get a little slice of happiness, a pinch of value and maybe–just maybe–a small serving of inspiration.
Follow me on social media, especially Instagram, to keep up with helpful tips and the latest announcements in the GMS world.
I’m excited to have you join the tribe!

July 28, 2014Hello there P.A.! I see that you just started following my poetry blog. Thank you so much! It’s always interesting when someone starts off following one blog and at some point, discover the other and begin following that one also. I hope that you are entertained and find quality content on this blog as well. I truly appreciate your support and please know that you have mine too! Thanks again! π

July 28, 2014Yes, I just stumbled across it by accident! I love poetry so I’m looking forward to reading your content. The last time I actively wrote poetry, I was in 7th grade and some got published. But it’s been sporadic ever since and mostly just wrote for me. π

November 18, 2014Great blog! I like everything I’ve seen and I just got here. I’ll be back though… I must ask it you’ve seen the film/ documentary by Chris Rock titled, ‘Good Hair’? Fantastic look into the psychology of the notion our natural hair isn’t ‘good’ enough. Hoping you’ll shed light on many of those still believing the old lies….

November 18, 2014Thank you and welcome! Yes, I have seen “Good Hair.” It’s right there along with the documentary “Dark Girls” by Bill Duke. I’m trying my best to debunk the views of the old lies (as you so aptly put it) and empower women to take charge of their hair by employing healthy haircare practices. After all, I firmly believe healthy hair is “good hair.”

November 18, 2014Wow. You are on a fantastic path and I wish you all the best! It’s nothing short of …Revolution!
I’ve not seen, ‘Dark Girls’ by Bill Duke. I’ll find it, I’m interested to see it.
