The Natural World

Photography 101 Prompt Day 8: Capture the natural world with your camera: document a moment outside, big or small. From a panorama snapped during your morning forest hike to a close-up of a leaf on the sidewalk, we invite you to document this wondrous world around us.

The interesting thing about Virginia is that the weather often times doesn’t match the time of year.  For example, today (November 12) it’s practically 70 degrees outside–though we’re expecting a 20 degree drop tomorrow.  It should be no surprise then that the vegetation which grows around this area is likewise confused.  In a three foot span of each other, three bushes simultaneously display blooms that represent different seasons . . .

The Rose Mallow blooms in this area in the summer.  Though summer is technically long gone, these wild flowers occasionally make a cameo.
